Designing and implementing a priority study for potential noise barriers along all freeways within Washington, DC.
The Strategy
HMMH's priority ranking system was based upon social survey data about people's responses to noise. For the study, we:
- Evaluated the feasibility of noise barriers for over 38 neighborhoods
- Identified 15 potential barriers as feasible
- Developed a spreadsheet model to process Traffic Noise Model (TNM) output into priority rankings for these barriers
