The Joint Planning and Development Office (JPDO) is spearheading the mission to build and implement the Next Generation Aviation Transportation System (NGATS). This system will enhance the technologies, processes and methodologies employed in our current system and respond to market and regulatory forces that shape the air transportation environment over the next twenty years. To accomplish this mission, the JPDO is charged with forming and serving as the system integrator of a collaborative enterprise. The enterprise will combine efforts of six agency partners, and draw on the insights and expertise of industry and the aviation community to build a target 2025 system.
HMMH has a current contract to perform various roles at the JPDO, and we are currently seeking candidates for a Government Transformation Analyst position.
HMMH's role at JPDO involves establishing program management requirements, infrastructure, procedures and processes to enable the JPDO to successfully perform its role as system integrator of NGATS. HMMH will be involved in providing JPDO with management consulting, program/transformation management, and communications services as well as develop and implement supporting technical, operational, and management processes.
The duties of the role of Government Transformation Analyst include:
- Draft and maintain configuration of JPDO management plans
- Provide support for the implementation of the processes and procedures defined by the JPDO management plans
- Develop and maintain the JPDO Master Integrated Schedule
- Prepare final edited and formatted versions of correspondence, reports, analyses, proposals, etc.
- Develop and prepare agendas, schedules, materials and mailings for projects and/or meetings
- Review and manage correspondence –and monitor key follow-up responsibilities; prepare draft responses; file or discard mail as warranted; identify key articles to be read/circulated
- Handle all logistics and planning related to JPDO coordinate with staff events; follow-up on key tasks; handle on-going contacts; ensure regular flow of information between staff and JPDO management teams; attend each JPDO meeting and generate the minutes
- Conduct basic research as requested, on specific topics, issues, develop and maintain library for JPDO.
- Provide overflow administrative support on a limited basis for management teams
- Attend and take notes at a wide variety of JPDO meetings
We are seeking candidates to serve in an administrative capacity directly in the arena where the Next Generation Aviation Transportation System (NGATS) is being developed. Position requires 4 years of work experience in the development and monitoring of information resources, management policies and procedures. A good understanding of today's air traffic technology as well as an understanding of the National Airspace System is highly desirable. Bachelors degree in aviation, business management or engineering required. Must have strong oral and written skills. We are seeking bright, enthusiastic, energetic individuals to work in the JPDO's fast-paced environment.

Aviation Noise Consultant, Sacramento, CA
Harris Miller Miller & Hanson Inc. (HMMH) is seeking candidates for a staff-level aviation noise consultant position in our Sacramento, CA office. HMMH is a nationally recognized environmental consulting firm. Since our founding in 1981, we have become the premier noise and vibration control company in the transportation field. Requirements include:
- BS/BA in engineering, aviation, physics or math; and
- Strong quantitative, analytical and communication skills
Recent graduates as well as those with 2-3 years of work experience are encouraged to apply. Specific duties include using noise models to run noise contours and performing data reduction and flight track analysis.
Desired qualifications include experience or training in one or more of the following areas: acoustics, aircraft performance, flight training, noise modeling, instrumentation or noise measurements.
The focus of our aviation services group is to analyze, evaluate, and find solutions for airport noise issues. As a consultant at HMMH you will work independently but also learn from senior staff as you utilize your:
- Technical knowledge and quantitative and problem-solving skills to analyze data to determine noise impacts and participate in noise and vibration measurement trips; and
- Communication skills to interact with project team members as well as clients and contribute to project memos and reports.
