Expert noise and vibration services were needed for the Florida High-Speed Rail Project EIS. The proposed 95-mile project was to be developed on new track, with the great majority of the system located within the existing rights-of-way of several major interstate highways as well as the CSX railroad.
HMMH served as the noise and vibration specialist on the Program Management Team. Our work included:
- Analyzing high-speed gas turbine and electric trains for noise and vibration impacts
- Performing noise and vibration studies
- Preparing the noise and vibration sections of the EIS
This project gave us the opportunity to apply the recent Federal Railroad Administration guidelines and methodology for assessment of noise and vibration from high-speed ground transportation.
