The Challenge
The Monterey Peninsula Airport District needed to implement a sound insulation program of over 250 homes and two schools at Monterey Peninsula Airport.
The Strategy
HMMH performed a comprehensive acoustical study for the Residential and Institutional Soundproofing Program. Various technical details were taken into account during the design process, such as improving acoustical properties of large picture windows and vaulted roof structures, while maintaining aesthetics and adhering to local building codes for earthquakes.
