HMMH was the prime contractor for the FAA’s NextGen Environmental Support Services Contract, evaluating airspace and procedural design proposals for two separate EAs at Chicago Midway International Airport (MDW) and at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA). These EAs were conducted in accordance with FAA’s Order 1050.1E, Environmental Impacts: Policies and Procedures.
HMMH conducted an EA for proposed RNAV/RNP procedures at Midway International Airport. Managed by the FAA’s Central Service Center and in coordination with the Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA), the project involved environmental analysis of proposed RNAV/RNP air traffic procedure changes at Midway and in the Chicago region, designed to accommodate air traffic more efficiently and leverage NextGen avionics technology that has been widely adopted by airspace users in recent years. The Midway EA addressed environmental effects on noise, emission levels, air quality, and fuel burn and managed public outreach initiatives.
