Quieter Pavements

HMMH, in cooperation the Institute for Safe, Quiet and Durable Highways and Purdue University, prepared a demonstration of how pavement types and noise barriers affect traffic noise. Listen here to see how it works:

For the Federal Highway Administration’s Little Book of Quieter Pavements, HMMH prepared a “listening experience” to accompany the book that clearly demonstrates the acoustical characteristics of different types of pavements, and the benefits of low-noise pavements.
