The Challenge
The LandMar Group needed assistance with construction noise control for a major mixed-use urban redevelopment project on the St. Johns River in downtown Jacksonville, Florida. The development plans included residential, office, retail, and hotel use as well as a marina and a riverwalk.
The Strategy
HMMH:
- Conducted noise measurements at a nearby high-rise condominium— of pile driving for riverwalk bulkhead construction
- Assisted in the application for a variance from the Jacksonville Environmental Protection Board noise rule. The application included a noise control plan that proposed to limit noisy construction to daytime hours, minimize backup alarm noise, and use pile driver shrouds to limit noise impact
In the future, HMMH will help develop construction noise control plans for subsequent development of the Shipyards property.
