Mr. Ross has worked on a wide range of noise and vibration studies for transit agencies across the U.S. and internationally. He has participated in and managed rail projects including Alternative Analyses, Environmental Impact Statements, Preliminary Engineering and Final Design.
Mr. Ross is currently project manager for updating the FRA High-Speed Ground Transportation Noise and Vibration Impact Assessment Guidance Manual. Mr. Ross has assisted the FRA Office of Research and Development designing and implementing active and passive noise control measures to reduce in-cab occupational noise exposure and specifying a directive locomotive train horn that can both increase safety and reduce environmental noise impact. Mr, Singleton, founder of Cross•Spectrum Labs, has more than 10 years of extensive real-world experience consulting for a variety of government, academic, and private clients. He has performed or supervised sound and vibration measurements across New England and throughout the country for projects involving transportation noise, construction noise, industrial noise, room acoustics, and loudspeaker performance. Mr. Singleton is experienced in presenting acoustic measurement results in the context of local and federal regulations, and applicable national/international standards as well as providing comprehensible descriptions intended for a lay audience.
