The Challenge
Noise guidelines and monitoring were needed for construction activities associated with the rehabilitation of the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway Meeker Avenue viaduct. The viaduct is located in a mixed commercial and residential community in Brooklyn, New York.

- Monitored noise and vibration from viaduct demolition, pile driving, and traffic on a temporary trestle adjacent to residential buildings
- Measured and evaluated alternative demolition methods for noise control purposes
- Recommended measures for traffic vibration control
